WRA Race Meets - Irvine Regional Park (Orange, CA)
All Whippets must be registered with WRA to enter our race meets. On the WRA website, you will find information on how to register your dog. For other breeds, please check the LGRA website.
Although registering hounds on the day of the meet is permitted under the organizations' rules, it adds to the day-of-meet workload of the race secretary. Registering hounds with the appropriate national Registrar-Record Keepers in advance of the meet is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
Practice runs between programs as time permits: $2 per run. We will hold as many practices runs as possible.
To reach Irvine Regional Park, Exit the Newport Freeway (#55) at Chapman. Drive east 5 miles to Jamboree. Left on Jamboree. The street ends at the park.
Local Participants please bring an item for the lunch table.
NOTRA Race Meets - Carbon Canyon Park (Brea, CA)
All Hounds must be registered with NOTRA to enter this race meet. For Whippets, please visit the NOTRA website to register your hound. For other breeds, please visit the NOTRA Other Breed website to register.
Although registering hounds on the day of the meet is permitted under the organizations' rules, it adds to the day-of-meet workload of the race secretary. Registering hounds with the appropriate national Registrar-Record Keepers in advance of the meet is encouraged and greatly appreciated. If you must "Day of" register you hound, you must bring a copy (not original) of your hound's registration. Without it, you will not be able to run your hound. No Exceptions!
Practice runs between programs as time allows -- $2 per run. We will run as many practice runs as possible. We are committed to providing oval racing experience to new hounds and people planning to participate in racing. However, if we have equipment problems, weather issues, etc, running of the official meet is the priority.
